Microsoft Windows and Mac OS provide the possibility of mounting Research Drive as a network drive natively but this is not a good way to connect to Research Drive and it has many limitations. We do not recommend using either of these implementations and use thereof is not supported in anyway by the Research Drive team. We recommend the use of a WebDAV client if you wish to mount it or the ownCloud Desktop Client.
Expected Error with Mac OS Finder / Windows Explorer
We strongly do NOT recommend to set a webdav mount from MacOS Finder or Windows Explorer to Research Drive. These are not aware of how personal and projectfolder quotas are assigned in Research Drive and ownCloud. This causes a known issue of "Not enough disk space" to upload files.
Here are some WebDav clients that are available. We do not offer direct support for them and you must test them yourself before using them.
- Rclone https://rclone.org
- RcloneView https://rcloneview.com/ (Rclone GUI Client)
- CyberDuck https://cyberduck.io/
- NetDrive http://www.netdrive.net/
- RaiDrive https://www.raidrive.com/
- oDrive https://www.odrive.com/
In case local diskspace is an issue
If local disk space is a bottleneck, we advise you to use the ownCloud Desktop Client in combination with the Virtual File System option.
