Waarborging privacy

Alle Service Providers die meedoen aan eduGAIN kunnen ervoor kiezen om de GÉANT Data Protection Code of Conduct te ondertekenen. Hiermee geeft een partij aan te voldoen aan de strenge Europese beveiliging- en privacywetgeving.

Het ondertekenen van de Code of Conduct is niet verplicht. De Service Providers voldoen immers vaak in hun eigen land al aan de daar geldende wetten; dit wordt afgedwongen door de federatie aldaar. De Privacy Policy van SURFconext is hiervan een voorbeeld.

De Code of Conduct en de SURFconext aansluitovereenkomst zijn allebei gebaseerd op de Europese wetgeving omtrent privacy en informatiebeveiliging.

Safeguarding privacy

All Service Providers who participate in eduGAIN can choose to sign the GÉANT Data Protection Code of Conduct. By doing so, the Service Provider declares to adhere to the strict European security and privacy laws.

Signing the Code of Conduct is optional. Most Service Providers are likely to already adhere to local security and privacy laws; this is often mandated by the national federation. An example is the several agreements and policies that must be signed by entities upon joining SURFconext. Although signing the Code of Conduct is optional, it is strongly recommended.
