The first time a user logs into SRAM, that account is linked to their identity in SRAM. SRAM offers the option to link additional accounts.

There are several situations in which adding an account to your identity in SRAM can be helpful. For example if you will lose access to your account in the future, your institution is changing their IdP system, or merging with another institution. Linking accounts should be done before using SRAM with the new account. To link another account, please take the following steps:

  • Visit your profile at https://mms.sram.surf.nl/fed-apps/profile/
  • Log in using your old account
  • Once you are logged in, you should get this screen:
  • Click on My linked accounts.  This gives you:
  • Click on Link new account
  • Now choose log in using your new acoount: choose "Add another institution", type the institution name or eduID NL, and select it (below we use the SURF IdP as an example):
  • Log in on the new IdP with username, password (and second factor if needed)
  • You should get the message "Your identities were successfully linked":
  • Verify that you can login with the new identity provider at https://sbs.sram.surf.nl/login;
  • When you get back to SRAM, you should see the CO memberships that were created with your old account
  • Optionally: visit https://mms.sram.surf.nl/profile and change your email address to the email address belonging to the new identity provider
