The service

SURF Works is an open-source collaboration platform for file storage, document editing, communication, and productivity, built on privacy, data ownership, and open standards. The 2026 pilot gives SURF members hands-on experience with the full Nextcloud Hub and evaluates its usability, governance, and technical setups. It will provide insights into how the platform can support secure, autonomous, and collaborative working across the sector.
