It is possible to request access to a team if the team has been made publicly visible.
Private teams
Private teams cannot be seen by users, unless you are a member of the team. It is also not possible to request access to a private team. Access to a private team can only be arranged through an invite to the team by the teams owner, admin or moderator. To learn more about team settings or different team roles, please visit this page.
If you wish to request access to an existing team, follow the steps in the panel below.
Consider a situation where there is a Team created called "externalcompany" by the user "dashboardadmin1". This user is now the owner of the team. The team members from the image below were invited by the team owner, but the owner of the team decided to make the team publicly available and that new members can request access. To read more about how to change the settings of an existing team, please visit this page.
Now the user "gebruiker2" also wishes to gain access to the team. This user can simply do so by navigating to Contacts. Here all publicly available teams as well as the teams that the user is already part of, will appear below the header Teams. If gebruiker2 will click on the team they wish to become part of, they get the option to "Request to join" the team.
Once clicked on this option, you will see a message that your request is pending approval:
Now the moderator, group admin or the group owner can approve the request. To approve this request, all the admin/moderator/owner have to do is approve the request in the member overview (see image below).
