Instead of sharing the folder or files with multiple individual users with the same permissions, using teams can be useful.
In this tutorial we show you how to create a team and how to share with a team.

Share permissions for teams
An advantage of sharing by using teams, is that you can set the permissions for the whole team at once.
All members of the team have the same permissions to access the data. Before setting permissions blindly, please checkout the page on Setting sharing permissions.
Not yet part of a public team yet and wish to gain access?
It is possible to gain access to a public team by simply looking for the team in your contact overview and pressing the button "Request access". Check out this page to learn more about gaining access to public teams.
1. Create a team
Step 1: Before you can share a file or folder with a team, you have to create a team.
To create a team, go to 'Contacts' in the top menu. Next, click the 'Plus' sign next to "Teams" on the left side.
Step 2: Choose a name for your team. In this example, the name of my team is 'Friends'.
Step 3: With the 'Add members' button, you can add members to your team.
Note that people must have a SURFdrive user account in order to add them as member of a team.
It is also possible to add an existing team to the current team. Expand the header below to learn more about this option.
Manage team settings and roles
Once teams are created, you can mange settings for the entire team: Team Settings
