SURFeduhub is het platform om onderwijsdata tussen Nederlandse onderwijsinstellingen te delen. Veilig en via open standaarden. Zo kunnen studenten bijvoorbeeld gemakkelijk onderwijsaanbod van hun eigen instelling én andere instellingen, rooster- of studievoortgangsinformatie inzien.
De SURFeduhub Gateway is het systeem dat zorgdraagt voor deze veilige uitwisseling van data. De Gateway is het knooppunt tussen onderwijsinstellingen, de data aanbieders, en andere afnemende instellingen zoals eduXchange of RIO van DUO.
Binnen het SURFeduhub Dashboard worden afspraken tussen data aanbieders en data afnemers vastgelegd, wat resulteert in configuratie voor de systemen van SURFeduhub. Iedere onderwijsinstelling, de aanbieder, is eigenaar van zijn eigen data en maakt zelf de keuze welke data met welke instellingen en/of afnemers wordt gedeeld. Iedere aanbieder heeft daarmee een unieke eigen configuratie.
Doel van het SURFeduhub Dashboard
Het SURFeduhub Dashboard maakt het voor de onderwijsinstelling mogelijk om zelfstandig het beheer van de aansluiting en configuratie uit te voeren. Onderwijsinstellingen hebben met het SURFeduhub Dashboard volledige controle en verantwoordelijkheid over de data die ze delen.
Voorheen vereiste het inrichten van de complexe configuratie een intensieve samenwerking tussen de onderwijsinstelling en de SURFeduhub beheerder. De noodzaak voor "handwerk" voor de verschillende betrokkenen is dankzij het SURFeduhub Dashboard tot een minimum beperkt.
Voorwaarden voor gebruik van het SURFeduhub Dashboard
Voorwaarde voor het gebruik van het SURFeduhub Dashboard is dat aan de juridische en organisatorische voorwaarden is voldaan. De organisatie moet lid zijn van SURF en een overeenkomst voor hebben voor het gebruik van SURFeduhub (zie https://mijn.surf.nl).

SURFeduhub is the platform for sharing educational data between Dutch educational institutions. Securely and via open standards. This allows students, for example, to easily view the educational offerings of their own institution and other institutions, as well as timetable and study progress information.
The SURFeduhub Gateway is the system that ensures this secure exchange of data. The Gateway is the hub between educational institutions as data providers, and data consumer such as eduXchange or RIO from DUO.
Agreements between data providers and data consumers are recorded in the SURFeduhub Dashboard, resulting in configuration for the SURFeduhub systems. Each educational institution, the provider, owns its own data and decides for itself which data is shared with which institutions and/or consumers. Each provider therefore has its own unique configuration.
Purpose of the SURFeduhub Dashboard
The SURFeduhub Dashboard enables educational institutions to independently manage their connection and configuration. With the SURFeduhub Dashboard, educational institutions have complete control and responsibility over the data they share.
Previously, setting up the complex configuration required intensive collaboration between the educational institution and the SURFeduhub administrator. Thanks to the SURFeduhub Dashboard, the need for “manual work” by the various parties involved has been reduced to a minimum.
Conditions for using the SURFeduhub Dashboard
A condition for using the SURFeduhub Dashboard is that the legal and organisational conditions are met. The organisation must be a member of SURF and have an agreement for the use of SURFeduhub (see https://mijn.surf.nl). For non-members, please contact us at surfeduhub@surf.nl
