The edubadges platform uses eduID. It's an identity you can use for educational matters throughout your life. You link your eduID to your institution. Your name will be retrieved via the link with your institution. This allows us to be sure that the edubadge belongs to the right person. In addition, the institution can only place edubadges in your backpack if you are linked.
Tip! When creating your eduID, use your private email address. This way you can also access it when you are no longer studying.
You can manage your eduID via the eduID portal (mijn.eduid.nl); i.e. you can view your eduID, change your e-mail address and see which (institutional) account you have linked.
Tip! Set a password so that (if you change e-mail addresses) you will always have access to your eduID.
Yes, this can be done by clicking on the Withdraw button in your backpack. You will find you requested edubadge in your backpack. Please note that this is no longer possible once the edubadge has been awarded.
You have already requested it; check your overview of requests on the requested edubadges tab in your backpack.

The edubadge will be awarded via Direct Award.

The badge is awarded based on your private email address.
You can link your eduID to another institution. For this it is not necessary to remove the other one.
Once you have made your edubadge public, you can share it with others. Either through the link or on your LinkedIn.

Verifying an edubadge means that, as a viewer/viewer of the edubadge, you can check:
whether an edubadge is still valid,
whether it has been issued to the person claiming it,
whether the edubadge has not been manipulated, i.e. that the metadata in the edubadge has not been modified.
Due to the GDPR, the edubadges platform is only allowed limited use of a person's personal data. We only receive the name of the person applying for an edubadge. The name is transmitted to edubadges by the institution where this person is registered. It is displayed when verifying the edubadge.
