Access to applications is based on membership of a collaboration connected to that application, with some exceptions based on the user's organisation.

Users who try to log in to your application, but are not member of a connected collaboration, will be shown an error page.

The error page tries to show some helpful tips, but is limited because it is unknown how and why the user ended up trying to log in to the application.

Helping the user

If the application admin can and wants to help the user getting access to the application, they can fill out the 'User support contact' field with either an URL or an email address and enable the 'Shown to unauthorized users' feature.

With this enabled, a button is displayed to the user for them to request access, either by email or a link.

Self service

If the user can request a collaboration via their organisation, and the application is allowed to be connected to collaborations of their organisation, it is suggested the user requests a collaboration in order to connect the application and gain access.

This can be the only option.

Or it can occur in combination with the helpful application admin.
